Tea Tourist

"What is Teatourist?" I hear you ask.

Well, for those of you who don't know Teatourist* a monthly subscription box perfect for tea addicts like myself. The monthly subscription costs just £14.95 and each month you will be sent not one, not two, but six wonderfully different loose leaf tea samples to try all from companies and brands you've probably never heard of before. Teatourist, bringing the world of loose leaf tea to you!

Just before Christmas, I was contacted by the lovely Joss from Tea-Tourist*, who after reading about my love for tea asked if I would like to be sent the December box. No strings attached!

With the rush and mayhem of Christmas looming I was gutted I'd read Joss's email too late. Or so I thought. I quickly replied letting Joss know I was definitely interested in trying a box but fully understood I was too late for their December dispatch and I was happy to wait until January. It'd be like an extra Christmas present. Within a day or two I received another email from Joss explaining she'd rushed a December box out for me, no problem at all - How nice is that?!

I was genuinely over the moon and could not wait for my box to arrive. It did, and before Christmas too!!

So, shall we take a look what's inside?

Marzipan Rooibos Tea Tourist

'Which one were you most excited to try?" Well, that has to be Marzipan Rooibos just purely on the fact the leaves are packaged in the cutest little tea bags I have ever seen! That and believe it or not I've recently found a love for marzipan, not a big love I must admit but an on growing love I'm sure can only get bigger.

Marzipan Rooibos definitely tasted as good as it smelt. As soon as you open the protective pouch you're greeted with the delicious scent of almonds (my favourite) and the scent doesn't fade away while brewing your cup of tea. S and I had to fight over who had the first sip. I let him, because I'm nice but I have to admit I was a little jealous.

You're advised to brew for 3-4 minutes, obviously, you can do this for a little longer if you prefer your tea strong. We found this was the perfect amount of time to get an incredible amount of flavours. There were a few bits at the bottom of the cup, which isn't great but something that I can surpass if the tea tastes this good and it really was great.

I was also really curious about Gingerbread Chai - I've never tried a chai tea before and having heard a lot of people rave about it I was curious to find out what all the fuss was about.

I'll be honest, we haven't gotten around to trying all the samples just yet I will update this post when we do but we did make the most festive ones our priority.

It seems you can get subscription boxes for almost everything these days and I absolutely love the idea behind this. I'll be honest, I'm not really a huge fan of "fancy" teas but I love the idea of being sent 6 very different samples and trying them at my own leisure. Who knows, you might discover your next favourite tea!

To order your Teatourist box head on over to their website now and get 10% off your first box! Boxes are dispatched around the 20th of every month and are only available in the UK.
Please be sure to let the guys know your thoughts by tweeting them over on Twitter or sending them some love on Instagram.

And finally, a huge thank you to Joss for getting in contact and sending me a box. I want to make it clear Joss or anyone else at TeaTourist has not asked me to feature their product on my blog, I genuinely love the idea so much I wanted to share it with you guys!

  3. This is such a lovely idea! Since going dairy free I drink herbal teas a lot more to make up for the fact I can't have milk in english breakfast tea so this would be perfect for me!
